1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? My product challenges conventions because conventions are the generally accepted ways of doing something, but with my product we switched it up and made it different. We did this by adding in people who were communicating with the audience. This represents social groups due to it having two or more people interacting with one another. The actors in my product were interacting and communicating with the audience. 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My product engages the audience through communication and visuals. The communication is so the audience feels as if they are being directly addressed, meanwhile the visuals just draw the audience in and grab the attention of the audience. My product would be distributed as a real media text by having my commercial appear on YouTube specifically on informal or nature-related c

My Commercial: This is my group's and my very first major project. I feel as if this project gave us the opportunity to try and test out what we have learned so far. This project is giving us the chance to grow and get better. Due to this project, we have the ability to perfect what we believe are our weak areas. Without having to do this project, I would not have been able to realize what I need to work on and get better at. I am very proud of my first production due to the fact that it shows all the room I have to grow. This project shows just how much potential I have and all that I was capable of before developing any new skills. Overall, this project was a very good learning experience. In this process, I've learned the best ways or techniques to do specific things. When I say specific things, I mean camera angles, movements, and things of that nature. Through this experience, I've learned the dos and don'ts when it comes to filming and editing. This lesson will o

Editing and Finalizing Blog

I finally after some weeks of filming wrapped it all up. I started our filming process October 10th and have finished and finalized everything today on October 13th. Our first scene was eleven seconds long and because of this is had to cut it. I chose certain seconds that really showed the best part of the view. I also had to edit in a picture of a Fiji water bottle and place it in the center. Once my group member and I wrapped that scene up we moved onto our second scene which was of the view from my porch. This scene was seven seconds long which was no that off at all. Due to this, the cutting process was much easier. We quickly wrapped that up and went straight to inserting a picture of a Fiji water bottle directly in the center of the screen. The third scene was a little more on the tricky side. I say this because not only did I have to cut a lot and insert a picture, but I also had to crop this scene. I had to crop this scene because there were some unwanted things in the backgrou

Editing Blog

My group and I have not started our editing process. We have to wrap up our filming and get our last scene filmed. Once we have concluded our filming process and we have everything necessary to move forward, we will start editing. We will do all of our editing on our iPads and possibly our mother's computer. We will do the editing from our iPads and possibly our mother's computer because of iMovie and because we have direct access to both the iPad and the computer. Once we get to the editing, we are going to edit our scenes so that they align and play in the correct order. We are going to have to cut down on some scenes. Some scenes my group and I filmed came out to be 5-10 seconds. So, once we edit t hat and do that without making it look choppy, we can move on. My group will move on to the music part, the layout of the screen, as well as the movements we wanted for 3 of our scenes. We have to edit the whole commercial so that there is music playing throughout the whole time.

Filming Blog

On October 1st, my group and I started the filming process. We made a filming plan for our group because we knew we would not be able to film all of the scenes in one day. We have nearly all six of our scenes filmed we have one scene left to be filmed, which is the last scene where one of our actors is going to be talking. We have yet to film it because our actor wasn't available. We will be filming that scene October 6th during the day so we can get good and natural lighting. My mother bought our prop which was a Fiji water bottle we used that in half of the scenes. In the scenes that we filmed we had to make sure that there wouldn't be any or a lot of background noises that would cause the actors to not be heard. Due to a specific locations of ours being next to traffic we had to wait for the cars to stop to start filming. We had to take multiple takes for the scenes with our actors. We took multiple because we had to make sure that everything was perfectly set up and just

First Scene: I will be filming at my first location which is a water fountain. I will be using a pan movement for this specific scene. With this specific movement the audience will be able to see the full view. In this first scene you’ll see the large body of water, a bunch of bushes, and trees and if you look very closely even some animals. In this scene there will be a Fiji water bottle directly in the center. There will be background music playing for this scene. Second Scene: I will be filming this scene on my porch. In the scene you will see trees, grass, bushes, as well as a lake. This specific scene is at a high angle which gives you a perfect view to be able to see a lot more. This scene also has a pan movement to show more nature. There will be a Fiji water bottle directly in the center of the scene. In the scene there will be background music playing. Third Scene: This scene will be of a pool. In this scene there will be water movements and splashes. The scene will be a Dut
