Production Blog: Almost Finished Filming

Image
Today I continued my filming process. I filmed my ninth scene. In this scene the main characters mother is reading the article that her daughter was just previously reading. This scene is where the mother is now aware of what is going on.  When filming the scene I had to make sure everything was perfect. When I say everything I mean in terms of lighting, camera, angles, etc. I had to do a couple of takes just to make sure that I get the perfect take. In some of the takes that I did not use there were some background noises that were very overwhelming. In some of the takes that I did not use because my iPhone was angled wrong. I shot this scene using my iPhone because of the quality. After doing all of this I wrapped up on this scene. I then moved onto the next. I filmed my tenth scene as well. In this scene I recorded some dialogue. This dialogue was between the main character and her mother. They are discussing how scary the situation is. This scene was a little more tricky. I had to

Today I made some more progress. I filmed two more scenes to go into my opening credits. The first scene that I started recording was of the main characters, mother. In this scene, the mother was walking down the hallway. This scene was a little bit more difficult to record. I say this because I had to walk as I recorded. So I had to make sure that I had stable hands. This was so that the video was more clear rather than shaky. Because it was difficult to record. I had to take multiple takes. In these different takes I had to attempt to record in many different ways. I did this, so that I could see which method works the best. The next scene that I recorded was of the mother finally getting into the living room. In the living room is where she joined her daughter. This scene was definitely easier than the other. I say this because I didn’t really have to do much walking with my camera. All I had to do was some simple camera movements. I use those camera movements to keep track on the

Today I made some more progress with my filming. I have filmed two more scenes for my opening credits. The first scene I recorded is the scene where the main character calls out to her mother. I thought that with my iPhone the quality of my shots will turn out better which they did the second seen that I recorded today would be of the main characters, mother. In this scene, the main characters mother is just folding some clothes in her room. This is sort of a way to introduce this character because there is going to be some dialogue between

Production Blog: Second Day of Shooting

On March 9th, my group continued our filming. The process for filming day 2, was very similar to my groups first filming day. I started to prep for the filming around 7 O’clock. I started to prep later in the evening, because my groups opening sequence genre is horror. Hence, the darkness of the scene adds to the horror, feel. I started to prep by changing into a casual outfit that fits the scene. Then I opened some lighting. I bought the lighting on Amazon and it was actually pretty cheap. The setup only took at most 10 minutes. This includes setting up 3 lights. After this I made sure to clean the scene we were recording on. I started to clean the scene by picking up dog toys. Then I removed any pee pads that might have been on scene because I was recording at home and have dogs. Next, I vacuumed the couch. I did this because the main actor was going to be sitting on the couch. After this I fluffed the pillows. Lastly, I set up the lighting and set up my camera with the tripod on th

I did this because my iPad is the main prop in my groups

Production Blog: Minor Setback

Today was supposed to be the start of our filming process. Unfortunately, we were not able to do so. I selected actors that live under the same household as me to make this whole process easier. One of the three actors were not able to be filmed today. With them being necessary to the filming process I had to postpone the start of our filming. My actor wasn’t able to film due to their job. My actor was my mother but unfortunately she was caught up with work so we just had to reschedule the start of our filming process for another day. Since I had to postpone the filming process I focused on other aspects of this process. I focused on other aspects of this process and make sure that everything was taken care of and correct. I had to go through our whole schedule and rearrange the dates. I did so to make sure that everything was going to be done on time and just to be organized. After going through my schedule everything was back on track and I was ready for the next date that I had se
