  1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues? Conventions are the typical things audience expect to see in a media product. Before making the movie I did a detailed research to to find out my generic conventions. My product challenges conventions because conventions are the generally accepted ways of doing something. But, with my product we switched it up and made it different. We did this by adding in people who were communicating with the audience. This represents social groups due to it having two or more people interacting with one another. The actors in my product were interacting and communicating with the audience. Although we have challenged conventions I still had used the simple, common camera and editing techniques that are mostly used in the movies like for example wideshot.  2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text? My Music Video: This is a big project for my group members and me. I feel that this project gave us a chance to test what we have learned so far. This project gives us a chance to grow and improve. This project gives us the opportunity to perfect our weaknesses. Without this project, I wouldn't have been able to understand what I was working on and what I needed to improve. I am very proud of my first piece because it shows all the space I have to grow in. This project shows me how much potential I have and how I can develop new skills. It shows what I was able to do before. Overall, this project was a very good learning experience. Along the way, I learned the best methods and techniques for doing certain things. When I say something specific, I mean things like camera angles, movements, etc. Through this experience, I learned the do's and don'ts of shooting and editing. This lesson will only help myself in the long run if I need to do something else, including shooting an

Editing and Finalizing Blog

I finally after some weeks of filming wrapped it all up. This process has definitely been a learning experience. I started our filming process November 24 and finished December 5. During our filming process we made sure to have some of our shots a little longer than necessary. I did this just to be on the safe side. Due to this we had to cut some of them to make them shorter. I kept certain seconds that really showed the best part of the whole shot. I kept the parts of the shots that really showed the entire setting and was more focused. Once my group member and I wrapped up this part we continued onto the next scenes. With some of the other scenes I also had to cut them. At most I had to cut around five seconds off of these shots. Nonetheless me cutting the scenes it made the editing process much easier. Once I wrapped up cutting my scenes we I got to the more tricky part. The tricky part being playing the music over the scenes. This was tricky because I had to make sure is playing t

My group and I completed the filming process on December 5th. My group finished the shooting process by recording a scene with actors in Christmas pajamas and dogs in Christmas clothes. These scenes were shot in an apartment. This completes the music video shooting process. I asked the director to bring props for the group. Props for the group were costumes. Before shooting both scenes, I had to make sure I was wearing comfortable clothes so I could be seam-ready. had to be reviewed to make sure it was spotless and looking good. This is so the team can continue filming. During the recording I made sure to maintain The specific camera angles the route complete scenes. In the background of our scenes there was dog toys and other furniture. Hence, I had to pick up the dog toys and make sure furniture was placed properly to continue with the filming process. The original plan for the recording process was to use a tripod for recording. However, we decided to just record using the phone dir

Production Blog: Railing Garland and Window Lights

My next day for filming was on December 1st. I started our filming process by filming our scenes with our actors decorating with garland and decorating with lights. The scenes were filmed in the neighborhood I live in. This was a great time to record because the two actors that were planned to be in these scenes were available at the time. This day of filming added two more completed scenes to the production of our music video. I had the Director bring the group props. These props included garland and lights. Prior to the recording of the two scenes I had to make sure I was wearing comfortable clothes to sue the conditions of our surroundings because one of the scenes was recorded outside. I also had to make sure that my team was ready to proceed with recording and check the actors to make sure their costumes are free of any stains or anything of that sort. I did this to ensure that they were presentable for the recording process. During the recording I made sure to maintain a specif
