Production Blog: Back to Filming

Image
I am finally back to film. It is the weekend now and all of my actors are free. This means that I can finally get to film some of the last bit of scenes that I need to wrap up my short film. Which is what I did. After the transition I wanted to film the ending of the escape room. Finally, the weekend has arrived, granting me the opportunity to resume filming with all of my actors available. With everyone's schedules aligned, I'm eager to capture the remaining scenes necessary to complete my short film. The prospect of bringing the project to a close fills me with excitement and anticipation. Setting up for the filming session, I ensure that all equipment is in place and ready to go. The atmosphere on set is charged with creativity and enthusiasm as we prepare to dive into the final scenes. The completion of these scenes marks a significant milestone in the filmmaking process. After meticulously planning each shot, we begin filming the concluding moments of the escape room sequ

Production Blog: Working on the Transition

Due to one of my actors working this entire week, I’ve decided to work on something else. And my film I wanted to film the beginning of the escape room and have a transition into the end. So this is what I decided to do. Since I can no longer do any filming until my actors are free, I decided to work on this. For this, I had to download an app. Due to me, working on prior projects, I feel as though this will come to me naturally. Which I was right. I took the time to get this transition out-of-the-way so that my next step could be to do the last bit of scenes and just wrap it up and then finish it off with my editing. Given the scheduling conflict with one of my actors, I've opted to shift my focus to another aspect of the film. Specifically, I've decided to work on creating a transition sequence from the beginning to the end of the escape room scene. This decision allows me to utilize my time productively while waiting for my actors' availability. To accomplish this, I ne

Today's filming plans were disrupted by an unexpected setback stemming from one of my actor's work commitments. Despite this hurdle, I remain optimistic and proactive in addressing the situation. Rescheduling filming to the upcoming weekend ensures the participation of the full ensemble, preserving the cohesiveness of the scenes. While setbacks are inevitable in filmmaking, they are manageable challenges that can be overcome with resilience and adaptability. Postponing filming allows me to focus on refining other aspects of the project, such as script improvements and location scouting. This setback serves as a valuable reminder of the complexities involved in coordinating a production and the importance of careful planning. Open communication with the actors about the revised schedule fosters cooperation and understanding, minimizing disruptions to the workflow. Embracing setbacks with a positive mindset underscores my commitment to delivering a high-quality final product. De

Encountering a minor setback in the filming process proved to be a valuable learning experience. While the setback disrupted our plans for the day, it did not deter our overall progress. One of the actors had prior commitments, necessitating a rescheduling of the filming session. Despite the setback, I remained determined to make the most of the day by focusing on other aspects of the project. Recognizing the importance of maintaining momentum, I redirected my efforts towards refining the schedule to accommodate the delay. Clear and open communication with the actors ensured a smooth transition to the new filming date, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. This setback underscored the unpredictable nature of creative endeavors, prompting me to embrace adaptability and resilience. Rather than dwelling on the inconvenience, I viewed it as an opportunity to grow and improve as a filmmaker. Channeling my energy into productive tasks allowed me to optimize our time and reso

I'm back! After pushing back filming I finally get to resume. My actors and I have only shot a little bit of a short film. Due to that today I wanted to get to work. I left no time for anything to happen. I wanted to go perfect so that we could have more stuff done. Which thankfully went well. Today I got to film some more of my actors. The scene that I had to film today it was more entertaining. This scene also has introduced to the audience. What is going to go on. Today I had filled my actors beginning to participate in the escape room. I wanted to film this because I felt as if it was more calm. I liked the fact that it felt more calm because I wanted my film to start off like that. Resuming filming after the brief hiatus filled me with renewed determination and excitement. With a clear vision in mind, I ensured that every moment on set was utilized efficiently to capture the essence of the scene. The introduction of the characters to the audience through the escape room scene

Today I was setback. Today I had another mishap with my filming. Today was the first day of the week and one of my actors has to work this week. Unfortunately, as a result to my actors work schedule, I have to push back the filming. I have to push back the filming to this weekend so that I can have all my actors together. This may be a setback, but it is not a major one. It is one that can be easily fixed. As I have done before I am going to just push back the filming schedule and just work on other aspects of my short film. Encountering setbacks in the filming process is an inevitable part of the journey, and today was no exception. The scheduling conflicts arising from one of my actors' work commitments required a swift adjustment to our plans. While it's disappointing to postpone filming, I recognize the importance of having the full ensemble present for the scenes. Adapting to unexpected changes demonstrates resilience and flexibility, essential qualities in the world of fi

Today we had a minor setback. We had a minor set back in the filming process. Nonetheless, we are going to continue on another day normally. One of my actors in fortunately had plans today. One of my actors having plans resulted in us, having to put off the filming for another day. even though we had a setback, I still continued, and did work. I decided that I wanted to work on my film even though I wasn’t going to be able to film. Just because I wasn’t able to film doesn’t mean that I wasn’t going to be able to at least get some work done. In order to get the perfect film that I am trying to achieve I need to put in the effort. So today I was working on the schedule trying to rearrange everything since we have this little setback so that we can continue on without any mishaps. Encountering a minor setback in the filming process served as a reminder of the unpredictability inherent in such creative endeavors.  Today’s the day. today’s the day that I started the filming process with my actors. After discussing with my actors their schedule, we decided that today could be the perfect day for us to film. My actors were all on the same page that they were free today and were willing to be filmed. today was a short filming session, but nonetheless, we got some progress down. Today we filmed the opening scenes. By opening things I mean where the audience gets to see what they are doing and who are these people. I decided to make sure that in my script that they said each other’s names so that the audience would be able to know who my actors are. The scenes that I recorded today were mainly just them hanging out together excited for their plans. The group of friends were excited for their plans also talking about their plans, which were to go to the escape room. Embarking on the filming process today filled me with a mix of excitement and anticipation. Witnessing the actors bring the characters to

Production Blog: Getting My Actors Ready

I have decided to talk to my actors as my second step. I made this decision of doing this next specifically, because today is Friday. I told to do this today because this gives my actors a heads up. Which also gives them a head notice. When I say, I talked to my actors, I mean, I let them know that I want them to do this film. I let them know that I wanted them to do this film and what my phone was about. I made sure that they were interested in being in my film and that they could. We talked about their schedule to make sure that they are free for the days that we want to film. I moved my filming schedule around my actors to ensure that I was actually getting my work done. If I had not done, so, then I would’ve had a harder time filming due to the fact that I need everybody together. Which is why I need to figure out their schedules so that we can all come to a common ground, where they are all free at the same time. Communication with the actors marks a crucial step in the filmmaki

Production blog: Planning Everything

I started the process. I have finally started my short film. When I say that I mean, I have started taking action about it. So far, I am really just planning everything out making sure everything is sorted out. What I mean by this is where this is all going to be taking place and just everything I need in order to film. this is what I decided to do to start off this whole process. I decided to do this because since I decided to work by myself, I wanted to make sure that I have every little detail planned out in perfect so that I am lacking in no areas. I feel as though since I am working by myself I need to work 10 times harder. I need to work 10 times harder because I don’t have someone else to pick up the slack or do something for the short film. I chose to do this first to ensure that everything was perfect and nothing was last minute or not given my all. Starting the process of creating a short film is both exhilarating and daunting. As a solo filmmaker, every aspect falls squarel
