Production Blog: That’s a Wrap

 This is the end. I have wrapped up everything. This process has definitely been a learning experience. I started our filming process March 6th and finished April 13th. During our filming process we made sure to have some of our shots a little longer than necessary. I did this just to be on the safe side. Due to this we had to cut some of them to make them shorter. I kept certain seconds that really showed the best part of the whole shot. I kept the parts of the shots that really showed the entire setting and was more focused. Once my group member and I wrapped up this part we continued onto the next scenes. With some of the other scenes I also had to cut them. Once I wrapped up cutting my scenes we I got to the more tricky part. The tricky part being playing the music over the scenes and fixing the volume of everything. This was tricky because I had to make sure is playing throughout the whole video as well as making sure the volume was good. When doing this process I how to put the music at a lower the following for you to still hear it but hear the dialogue over it. I did this so that you could  hear everything but mainly focus on the dialogue rather than the music . I also had to edit the shots so that they flowed together rather than come out  choppy. After this I finally finished the editing process and started replaying the opening sequence. I had to watch the final opening sequence over and over again multiple times. This way I know it is perfect and nothing is wrong. Replaying the opening sequence was my way of double checking and making sure that everything was added correctly, everything flowed perfectly and did not feel choppy, and lastly just to make sure my opening sequence concluded to be the correct length.

How to make a short film

  "Write what you have the resources for" is a powerful adage to follow when creating plots and screenplays. We can only write with what we have we are limited in what we can do due to the lack of cameras and microphones for filming. I know it takes time to edit and pace a movie since you only have 5 minutes, you have to be careful about how much to photograph and how much to cut. Overshooting is the best option, but you need to make sure the plot     doesn't need to be fully fleshed out to make sense. There needs to be     some balance, every scene needs to contribute something towards the ending, there's no room for fill-in-the-blanks. Also, the movie isn't very predictable, but it could use a Groundhog Day-type plot, which makes this difficult. Intro Blog: The Nerves

Hello, it's me again. I prepared myself mentally  for this particular project. I was completely nervous about this project before, but now I think I'm ready. I'm a little worried, but overall I'm calm. I'm worried that my job will be unstable, that something will go wrong when I shoot, that the image will be problematic. I may have some questions, but overall I'm looking forward to filming and getting back on set. I was nervous before because I had no experience creating videos like this. Now that I'm working alone, I'm even more nervous. This time, no one gave me constructive criticism or stood out. After talking about it and learning more about it, I felt calmer and less nervous.
