Production Blog: Setback

Today I was setback. Today I had another mishap with my filming. Today was the first day of the week and one of my actors has to work this week. Unfortunately, as a result to my actors work schedule, I have to push back the filming. I have to push back the filming to this weekend so that I can have all my actors together. This may be a setback, but it is not a major one. It is one that can be easily fixed. As I have done before I am going to just push back the filming schedule and just work on other aspects of my short film. Encountering setbacks in the filming process is an inevitable part of the journey, and today was no exception. The scheduling conflicts arising from one of my actors' work commitments required a swift adjustment to our plans. While it's disappointing to postpone filming, I recognize the importance of having the full ensemble present for the scenes. Adapting to unexpected changes demonstrates resilience and flexibility, essential qualities in the world of fi...

Today we had a minor setback. We had a minor set back in the filming process. Nonetheless, we are going to continue on another day normally. One of my actors in fortunately had plans today. One of my actors having plans resulted in us, having to put off the filming for another day. even though we had a setback, I still continued, and did work. I decided that I wanted to work on my film even though I wasn’t going to be able to film. Just because I wasn’t able to film doesn’t mean that I wasn’t going to be able to at least get some work done. In order to get the perfect film that I am trying to achieve I need to put in the effort. So today I was working on the schedule trying to rearrange everything since we have this little setback so that we can continue on without any mishaps. Encountering a minor setback in the filming process served as a reminder of the unpredictability inherent in such creative endeavors. However, rather than dwelling on the inconvenience, I chose to channel m...

Production Blog: Started Filming

Image
Today’s the day. today’s the day that I started the filming process with my actors. After discussing with my actors their schedule, we decided that today could be the perfect day for us to film. My actors were all on the same page that they were free today and were willing to be filmed. today was a short filming session, but nonetheless, we got some progress down. Today we filmed the opening scenes. By opening things I mean where the audience gets to see what they are doing and who are these people. I decided to make sure that in my script that they said each other’s names so that the audience would be able to know who my actors are. The scenes that I recorded today were mainly just them hanging out together excited for their plans. The group of friends were excited for their plans also talking about their plans, which were to go to the escape room. Embarking on the filming process today filled me with a mix of excitement and anticipation. Witnessing the actors bring the character...

Production Blog: Getting My Actors Ready

Image
I have decided to talk to my actors as my second step. I made this decision of doing this next specifically, because today is Friday. I told to do this today because this gives my actors a heads up. Which also gives them a head notice. When I say, I talked to my actors, I mean, I let them know that I want them to do this film. I let them know that I wanted them to do this film and what my phone was about. I made sure that they were interested in being in my film and that they could. We talked about their schedule to make sure that they are free for the days that we want to film. I moved my filming schedule around my actors to ensure that I was actually getting my work done. If I had not done, so, then I would’ve had a harder time filming due to the fact that I need everybody together. Which is why I need to figure out their schedules so that we can all come to a common ground, where they are all free at the same time. Communication with the actors marks a crucial step in the film...

I started the process. I have finally started my short film. When I say that I mean, I have started taking action about it. So far, I am really just planning everything out making sure everything is sorted out. What I mean by this is where this is all going to be taking place and just everything I need in order to film. this is what I decided to do to start off this whole process. I decided to do this because since I decided to work by myself, I wanted to make sure that I have every little detail planned out in perfect so that I am lacking in no areas. I feel as though since I am working by myself I need to work 10 times harder. I need to work 10 times harder because I don’t have someone else to pick up the slack or do something for the short film. I chose to do this first to ensure that everything was perfect and nothing was last minute or not given my all. Starting the process of creating a short film is both exhilarating and daunting. As a solo filmmaker, every aspect falls squ...

Casual Filming Process

In this blog I will be discussing how I have my filming process planned out. I intend on filming whenever I can. Which this will most likely be during the weekend. I say this due to the fact that the actors who are going to be in me short film I usually see over the weekend. I will also need to figure out my actors work schedules to make sure my filming schedule goes along with it. The location of my filming will be in my aunts house. I chose this location because this is usually where we are always at. This is a fitting locations because of the different rooms inside. Which we can use to do all of the filming. My participants will consist of my 2 friends and my cousin. My cousin has a 50/50 chance of being in my short film due to him being busy majority of the time. The health and safety of everyone in this process is ensured due to the fact that nothing within this process puts them at jeopardy. As of right now the props are not known for certain. That is an area where I would ...
